Goodman has quickly become one of my favorites when it comes to historical western romances. Utterly captivating and full of grit, humor, and beautiful romances. They're just an amazing time.

Now, this first one. Kids don't usually work for me in books but Annaleah (who is 10 and the heroine's sister) is freaking hilarious. This is early on when she's just found the hero laying in their fields a good way towards dead and he just wants to be left alone and she just keeps on talking and talking at him.

1 star-- The Billionaire’s Favorite Mistake (Billionaires and Bridesmaids #4) by Jessica Clare

Well, that did not go well. At all. Pretty much the only thing I enjoyed about The Billionaire's Favorite Mistake was the "Billionaire" and even he was questionable. Typically I love Clare's writing and have had a blast with this series and the one it's connected to. The Billionaire's Favorite Mistake and I, however, did not get along. There will be spoilers. Because I'm annoyed. And long. Because I'm annoyed even 12 hours after finishing. Sorry.

Alright so the gist is that Greer has loved her buddy Asher for pretty much ever but he's never seen her as more than a friend and she's ready to make him finally notice her. So she's gonna tart herself up and come on to him at a party and win his heart. Instead she gets bad drunk sex, winds up pregnant and pulls a runner and never talk to him again. Plans are of course foiled when he finds out and wants to win her back.

3 stars--Heat It Up by Stina Lindenblatt

A Summer in Finland! Who in their right mind would turn down that offer? For Kyle and Sofia it was a no-brainer. Especially seeing as they'd each found themselves at a turning point in their lives--trying to move on from tragedy and heartbreak and just needing to kick off something fresh and new.  And so they each found themselves in Finland--Kyle coaching at a hockey camp for kids and Sofia on a work study program and visiting her grandmother. A chance encounter and a proposition--she needs a fake boyfriend for just a few minutes--and, well, the summer is about to heat up something fierce!

Heat It Up was a fun, easy read that kept me entertained and turning the pages. I did have some struggles, though, that kept this from being a knock out read...

Tasty Delights-- Tamale Pie

I'm still Spring Cleaning. At this point, yall, it's just gonna be like 2016 Cleaning. lol I'm going SO slow. But at the moment I'm working on the kitchen. And that meant taking EVERYTHING out of the cabinets, cleaning and organizing. And realizing I had 8 boxes of Jiffy Mix between the cabinets and 4 jars of red sauce. Erms. Hell if I know, yall. Hell if I know.

And off to search for a way to use some of my hoard of goodies up. That's when I found a Tamale Pie recipe. I've never had this before but turned out delish and I've made it a couple times now. Super easy too.

3.5 stars-- Duke of Sin (Maiden Lane #10) by Elizabeth Hoyt

Hoyt never disappoints when it comes to bringing a dark, edgy and unique romance to the pages. It might not always be your particular flavor but it's still intriguing and pulls you along in it's grasp from start to finish.

So the quick of it is that The Duke of Montgomery is pretty much a blackmailer. And his new housekeeper? Well she's there for one simple reason...to find the papers he's holding over the head of someone close to her. Alas, she gets caught and so begins a very strange game of cat and mouse as they try to figure out why the other is so dang appealing--and each keep their secrets...secret.

4 stars-- To Love a Wolf (SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team #4) by Paige Tyler

Cooooooooooper!!! Wolftastic! Tyler rocks the shifter world with her team of sexy alpha werewolves. To Love a Wolf will get your pulse pounding for all kinds of delicious reasons. Action packed and sexy as all get out.

The quick of it is that Cooper? Well he doesn't do anything the normal way. Including meeting The One. Yep. He meets his future lady love...in the middle of a bank robbery. lol And their whirl wind romance only gets more and more exciting from there. Bombings, over protective siblings and scorch-the-sheets chemistry...yeah, things are getting interesting.

Interview w/ Ava Branson-- sexy yacht captains & blush worthy confessions?

Hey Guys! We've got Ava Branson joining us today to talk about her latest release. Yall give her a big welcome and hit those comments!

Mornin' Ava! Welcome to #TheHerd! We're getting hit with a taste of summer heat this week so I'm thinking some iced tea while we chat. How're things on your side of the world?
Things are wonderful in sunny Florida! My youngest is home from college which is confirmed by the increase in food bill and the debris trail. She's easily found. Just follow the empty glasses, food wrappers, hairbrush, earrings, shoes... :) Wouldn't change it for the world!

4 stars-- Hanging by a Thread (Riley O'Brien & Co. #3) by Jenna Sutton

Oh how I love this series! Sexy, playful, make-you-smile romance. Hanging by a Thread totally won me over.

Okay so the quick of it is Cal's sister is Bebe's best friend. Problem is...they can't stand each other or resist throwing a snarky barb in the others direction. Really, though, they're both harboring some hardcore lust and trying desperately to hide the fact. Until a little bit of eavesdropping presents a very interesting turn of events. Bebe...is in need of a man. Well, she's in need of a cock to help her with one very pesky hymen. Aaaaaand enter Cal who offers up his manly bits because, seriously, he wants this girl bad. And so begins a "de-virginization plan". Erm... "the cherry picking project". Or...the romance of Cal and Bebe.

"Losing your virginity requires a penis, and I just happen to have one."

Woohoo! This series is so fun! It's contemporary romantic suspense-ish and has amazing characters. There's this group of guys who have been friends since they went to prep school together and now they're all grown up and crazy important people but that friendship is still there. Teasing and giving each other all kinds of hell. lol This is at a wedding and Mad's kind of a manwhore and spending time with the woman Dax is totally smitten with and, well, this happens. It just made me snort.

The Monthly Herd: May-- Erm, we're still in the vicinity of May, right?

Earg. It's practically still May, right? Okay so the big-ish stuff here.

Well. I got sick for like the first time in ever. Then got myself sick again. I so do NOT get sick like ever so holy heck it was a smack down, yall. I'm nearly better though *fingers crossed*

Tasty Delights-- Veggie Enchilada Skillet

Tasty strikes again! lol They are so bad (or good!) for my kitchen. Or so good? Hrms. Anyway. This time it was a Veggie Enchilada Skillet that caught my eye.

I'll admit I was a little nervous about trying this one at first. I was feeling a mite intimidated but oh my gosh. So easy! And amazingly delicious! *adds it to the keeper file*

3.5 stars--The Wicked Duke (Wicked Trilogy #3) by Madeline Hunter

Oh I loved the so called 'Wicked Duke'. Lance is so very wicked (well naughty at least) and more oft than not...finds himself in spots of trouble but currently? Well he's playing the "good" duke. The well behaved one. The dull as rocks and bored out of his mind one. *flails* See, his brother was murdered some months back and all eyes have been on him as the culprit. So he's got to behave himself and avoid all of his usual trappings. Including women. Alas, one captivating trespasser has caught his eye. Just so happens her uncle is one of the men who holds Lance's fate in his hands. And so...things get a touch messy as Lance tries to save his hide, find out who really did kill his brother and deals with a romance he never saw coming.
