Quote-tastic/Review-- Wild Zone (Rough Riders Hockey #4) by Skye Jordan

A very short quote today. Not even really a quote but a line. Some times the perfect little zing or thought just tickles me and that was so the case here.

2 stars-- A Perfect Compromise (New Jersey Ice Cats #4) by Anna Sugden

A Perfect Compromise is one of those books where the writing is pleasant and I liked the heroine but the hero is a fucking asshole prick who needs to grow the fuck up and get over himself. I honestly didn't want him to have a happily ever after and wish she'd leave his sorry useless self-centered ass and find a real man. Because it is not him. Gah! He's the perfect candidate for dick removal because he surely wasn't responsible or worthy of his.

The quick of it is that Issy and JB meet on vacation and one thing leads to a broken condom and a couple months later them dealing with their vacation fling coming back to haunt them. Yeah. They fully expected a good time and then to go their separate ways with fond memories but now they're having to deal with a pregnancy and what it means to their futures. And not everyone is handling it well...

1 star-- Dazzling (Diamond Trilogy #1) by Elizabeth Hayley

IT'S A CLIFFHANGER!!! *rage, yall, rage*

I'm feeling rather pissy right now over Dazzling. This was my first time reading this writing duo and likely my last. I'm so disappointed, yall!

The premise started out well enough-- rich hero falls for poor--and reluctant-- heroine and sets out to win her over.

3.5 stars-- When All The Girls Have Gone by Jayne Ann Krentz

Ahh Jayne Ann Krentz. A favorite of mine. I just can't resist her books and with such a gorgeous cover...I was in. When All The Girls Have Gone was a very nice murder mystery and what I hope will be the kick off to a new series.

Audio Files-- Wicked Appetite, Wicked Business, & Wicked Charms by Janet Evanovich

A little silly, a spot outrageous, and a whole lotta fun. Full of dynamic characters, crazy adventures and a touch of woo-woo these were mysteries that had me craving more. I couldn't not listen to these fast enough and seriously lamented the fact the series isn't finished. lol I decided to do a 'series' review since I binge listened to the series.

Christmas Quickies-- Hot Winter Nights by Codi Gary & I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas by Molly Harper

Hot Winter Nights (Bear Mountain Rescue #1) by Codi Gary

This was a fun winter quickie. New girl in town. Two tempting men...who happen to be best friends. Adorable canine companions. A winter storm. Yep. Good times.

4 stars-- A Christmas Bride (Chapel of Love #1) by Hope Ramsay

Ramsay has a lovely way of mending hearts and broken souls. Love, hope, a little humor. A Christmas Bride was a beautiful romance and start to a new series.

The quick of it is that after many years away Willow's life has gone sideways and she's come home to start over. And it's brought her face to face with the world her best friend left behind when she was tragically killed years earlier. A husband and young child still struggling through the loss and a falling apart inn that her friend dreamed of restoring. And they speak to her soul in a way little has for a very long time. A little Christmas magic in the air, a determined spirit, and the strength of family and friends might bring a bit of happiness in time for the holidays.

3 stars-- The Hero (Sons of Texas #1) by Donna Grant

My first Donna Grant! I couldn't resist the cover for The Hero. Goodness it's yummy! I mean, seriously pet-able! lol And it was a decent read, too, though I did have a couple quibbles.

Quote-tastic/Review-- the sweet spot-- Size Matters (A Perfect Fit #1) by Alison Bliss

Oh my gosh. Yall! New to me author. Totally became my crack. I had such a good time with this one. And pretty much turned my book into a veritable rainbow for all the little post it notes that mark all the hilariously amazing quotes.

So a few for today... this hero. He cracked me up. He's got one serious sweet tooth and he'd say things and I was like yup...yup that's about right. lol

4 stars-- Bodyguard (Under Covers #1) by Jessica Linden

A do-gooder politician, an assassination threat, a new bodyguard who will do anything to keep her new client safe. Danger, passion, stand up characters. Yes, I had a good time with Bodyguard. This is how all political romances should play out!

DNF-- Dare You to Run (Unbroken Heroes #2) by Dawn Ryder

Things did not go well with me and Dare You to Run. I DNF-d at 33%. I usually try to make it to at least 50% but nothing had me engaged or even remotely enjoying it--characters, plot, sex scenes, etc. Basic gist is Vitus rescued Damascus and they got hit with a case of insta-lust/love but then are separated for years before coming back into each others lives... just as she's about to escape her father's clutches.

Alright so what didn't work.

Quote-tastic/Review-- the thrill of the journey -- Heated Pursuit by April Hunt

A new to me for today's Quote-tastic! A sexy security team, a determined heroine, the jungle with danger coming at them from all corners. Ah! Yes! lol

So this first quote. I always love when a character says something then is like oh damn! I did NOT just say that! ha!

3 stars-- Legal Wolf's Mate by Eve Langlais

Legal Wolf's Mate-- a paranormal quickie that's full of entertaining characters. The basic gist is that Megan has been set up for her new boss's murder and our dashing hero, Gavin, just happens to be a lawyer and intrigued. And a little knocked back on his ass since it turns out his new client...totally his future mate.

3 stars-- Deal Me In (Betting on Romance #4) by Cheri Allan

I love a good second chance romance and I enjoyed Deal Me In. It was an easy read with a solid orderly hero and a heroine who was a bit more whimsical and trying to figure things out.

The quick of it is that Grace and Jeff have some past history that left them, well, not totally infatuated with each other. And now that he's come back home to live and work, well, they're having to deal with each other. And not totally loving that either...at first.

4 stars-- Texas Tall by Kaki Warner

Oh, I am SO going to have to read more from Kaki Warner! Texas Tall was a slower moving romance but it grabbed my heart completely and had me falling in love with this dusty little Texas town and the eclectic group that call it home.

The quick of it is one day a group of Rangers are bringing a prisoner through Lottie's town and a shoot out happens. A young Ranger is shot and Lottie rushes in to comfort him while help is called. And so a connection is made that holds both of them in it's grip even after he's left town. But something keeps pulling them back together month after month until they just can't resist any longer.

I was so excited to see this new series from Blake. I just love me some Riders. So, Day. He rescued what he thought was a woman in need and she ended up being evil and tortured him and his brothers to near death and cost them their immortality. So he's not so much in the damsel rescue business these days and lamenting a new damsel in need. I loved this thought from his friend Barbara...

Sooo a semi-new-to-me. Anna Bennett is actually one of my favorite authors who has had a name change. She used to write as Anne Barton. It was so good, yall.

Anywho. Today's quote. ::snort:: Basically, years ago the hero caught the heroine skinny dipping and he's having to squirm a bit and explain himself. This part of it just made me laugh. Good save, hero. Good save.
