2 stars-- Gabriel's Redemption (Gabriel's Inferno #3) by Sylvain Reynard
Oh my word. It took me for freaking ever to finish Gabriel's Redemption. Goodness but I do not understand the fan girl reviews for this at all.

The Cottage on the Corner (Apple Valley #2) by Shirlee McCoy
The Cottage on the Corner...yall. It made me hungry! For baked goods and sexy cops. Ha!
The Gist: Max is a ladies man. He loves them all. Though he doesn't know what to do with the two new ladies in his life... his three year old daughter who was a complete surprise and has been abandoned on his doorstep. Or the sexy baker who's got no time for men but turns out to be his saving grace when it comes to sudden daddy-hood and caring for a little girl.

3.5 stars-- Midnight Alias (Killer Instincts #2) by Elle Kennedy
Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!
This series. Yall. The characters are...fiery. The guys are with a group of mercenaries. The girls are a group of assassins. They're all rather badass and take no shit from each other. It's a good time.
The hero. He was trying so hard to be a good guy and not take advantage. Olivia, though? Well, she had some thoughts on this. So funny.

3.5 stars-- Midnight Rescue (Killer Instincts #1) by Elle Kennedy
This series, yall, it's something. A band of female assassins heading off against a team of male mercenaries. And their bosses...who cannot stand one other. Damn inconvenient when their operatives start meeting and falling in love. Damn it all!
The Gist: Abby blew her cover. Got herself thrown in a torture chamber and well and truly fucked. But she had her reasons. 13 of them in fact--young girls about to be sold into sex slavery. She just needed to get close enough to them to mount a one woman rescue. Which got all blown to hell when her boss tapped a group of mercenaries to rescue her. Oy! Now they'll all have to figure a way to get back and save the young ladies before it's too late.

[quote-tastic] 4 stars-- Dragon Soul (Dragon Falls #3) by Katie MacAlister
Katie MacAlister is something...special. I enjoy her humor. The little bit of silly and ridiculous mixed into the action and romance. Her characters just make me laugh.
Nipple nubs, indeed! This quote gave me a chuckle.

4 stars-- Midnight Games (Killer Instincts, #3) by Elle Kennedy
Holy crap! Now that's how you do a romantic-suspense! A scorching slow burn romance and suspense that'll get your heart pounding. Excellent!
The Gist: Trevor and his team of mercenaries have gone through hell and come out the other side needing help tracking down those responsible. Isabel and the assassins she works with... are just what they need. Their bosses may hate each other but whenever these two are in a room together sparks fly and temptation hits hard and heavy. Even in the face of danger.

3.5 stars-- Veiled Magic (Veiled Magic #1) by Deborah Blake
A new urban fantasy series by one of my favorite authors? Yes, please! Veiled Magic definitely caught my attention and was a fun time as a ragtag group of misfit paranormals are tasked with, well, saving the world.
The Gist: Donata's a bit bored at work. All her time is spent in the precinct basement and, well, she's ready to spread her wings as a cop and get out in the field. And then one minute you're talking to a dead man like normal and then ya find yourself stealing an enchanted painting with the help of two hunky yet damaged men and on the run from, well, everyone other than them. Yeah. Be careful what you wish for.

[Quotetastic] 4 stars- Shot on Gold (Play-by-Play #14) by Jaci Burton
They eat. They skate. They fuck.
What's not to love? lol
What's not to love? lol
The Gist: The Olympic Winter Games. A sheltered figure skater deciding to have a little fun for a change and setting her sights not only on winning a gold medal but snagging some sheet time with one of the hockey gods who's always the life of the party. Mmhm

4 stars-- Death Below Stairs (Kat Holloway Mysteries #1) by Jennifer Ashley
I just adore Jennifer Ashley's books and getting to jump into a new series? Yes, please!
Death Below Stairs was a fun adventure with a no nonsense cook and a squirly acquaintance who pull together a ragtag group of eccentrics to save the world! LOL Well, okay just a small part of it, but still!

The Gist: Kat has started a new job as a household cook and her first week? Well one of the young maids is murdered right in the house! While horrible it might be linked to an even more nefarious plot to take down the Queen herself. Unless Kat and her acquaintances can piece things together in time.

3.5 stars-- Headmaster (Lessons From the Rack #2) by Tara Sue Me
Tara Sue Me always brings a deliciously steamy read to the table.
The Gist: Lennox runs a BDSM academy but he's kind of a Dom trying to not be a Dom. Yeah, he's got some issues happening. And Marie? Well she's about tired of waiting for him to get his Dom back and ready to make it happen one way or another. Poor boy doesn't know what's about to hit him.

4 stars-- The Final Score (Play-by-Play #13) by Jaci Burton
I've been reading on the Play-by-Play series for years now and, oh, I still love it. This one was kinda fun in that the hero is the kid of the couple from book one. But now he's all grown up and, whew, a sexy quarterback that's way too cute for his own good.
This first quote, yall.
It's his birthday part and, well, he's got some ideas...

4 stars-- Promise Not to Tell (Cutler, Sutter & Salinas #2) by Jayne Ann Krentz
Krentz always hits the spot and Promise Not To Tell...seriously delivered!
The Gist: Decades ago as children Virginia and Cabot were rescued from a cult. And all these years later there's a real possibility that the man behind their near deaths and their mother's murders has resurfaced and they're in his sights once again.

4 stars-- The Christmas Room by Catherine Anderson
The Christmas Room was a lovely read. And one I devoured. Family, drama, ranch life and...Christmas! This book was huge but I finished it in less than 24 hours. Every spare second I was reading a little more.
The Gist: Cam and his family have moved to town and they're basically camping out until their home is built and oh that puts a spur under their neighbor's saddle. He can't stand them hillbilly neighbors and when he finds out the son is sniffing after his daughter...and she's sniffing right back? Oh hell no. He's gonna make em all sorry they moved to town. Or that's his plan. Until he gets put in his place by a sassy older lady who's not backing down to all his bluster and growling.

4 stars-- Dirty Scoundrel (Roughneck Billionaires #2) by Jessica Clare
Clare has a twist on billionaires that'll have even the most indifferent sitting up and paying attention. The Price brothers? Roughnecks that hit it big and became overnight oil tycoons. They may be billionaires but these guys are still scruffy, crass and rough around all their edges. Mmhm.
The Gist: Revenge. And fucking someone out of your system. This...is the plan. Buy the girl who broke your heart years earlier, fuck her in exchange for paying off her debt, move on. Yeah. Yeah, yall. *pinche bridge of nose* Dick move.

3 stars-- Barking Up the Wrong Tree (Bluff Point #2) by Jenn McKinlay
These covers are just the cutest! I've enjoyed the first two books from McKinlay's series. They aren't prefect but oh my this group of friends. They're pretty damn hilarious.
This first quote I just enjoyed the banter and the clarification. lol

4 stars-- Lady Charlotte's First Love (The Sutherland Sisters #2) by Anna Bradley
Aaaaahhh, Anna Bradley. It wouldn't be one of her books if I didn't want to stab someone at least once!
Quick of it is that Charlotte's having a wild-widow-loose-in-London breakdown and her family is all ohmahgawd we have to do something so they bring in Julian who has his own holy-shit-I'm-all-fucked-up thing going on and task him with getting Charlotte to leave the city and retire to the country with her family where she'll hopefully not cause her ruin with her crazy antics. Of course last time they saw each other shit did not go down well. So, yes. This will go well. Especially after he finds her smoking and drinking in a whore house. Erms. Yall. Widow-gone-wild. I'm telling you.

3 stars-- Blaze of Memory (Psy-Changeling #7) by Nalini Singh
Blaze of Mystery was a bit of a mixed read for me. There were parts of the storyline I really enjoyed but others dragged as Dev tried to resist his desires for Katya. A woman left broken on his doorstep and who posed a very real threat to the organization he runs in order to keep his people safe.

4 stars-- Ride It Out (Desert Dogs #4) by Cara McKenna #QuoteTastic

Ride It Out is Miah's book. Finally! He's the romantic of the group and I'll admit his book took me by surprise. I was not expecting his heroine to have a kid. But it worked out great and made for some fantastic scenes. This one had me and my 35 year old grey hair having self laughing...

3 stars-- Going Dark (The Lost Platoon #1) by Monica McCarty
Yall. This is one of those reviews where you're gonna read the review and be like what the hell are you giving this book a 3 star for?
Yeah.
Going Dark and I did NOT get along. This book made me feel ranty damn near from the start and I have a near mile long list of issues I had with the book. Errors, characters, things that were just obnoxious.
And yet... it's still getting a 3 star. *boggles*

3.5 stars-- The Flirtation (Submissive #10) by Tara Sue Me #QuoteTastic
Oh yeah. I love me some Tara Sue Me. She writes such yummy erotic romance and bdsm.
So. The Flirtation. Totally flirty and sexy. I really liked the hero in this one. And that it touched on some bdsm issues like trust and when it's broken.
Anywho. Two quotes today...
