3.5 stars-- Midnight Alias (Killer Instincts #2) by Elle Kennedy

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

This series. Yall. The characters are...fiery. The guys are with a group of mercenaries. The girls are a group of assassins. They're all rather badass and take no shit from each other. It's a good time.

The hero. He was trying so hard to be a good guy and not take advantage. Olivia, though? Well, she had some thoughts on this. So funny.

4 stars-- Disturbing His Peace (The Academy #3) by Tessa Bailey

Okay. So Tessa Bailey. :shivers: Love her books!

And I've been enjoying the heck out of this series that revolves around a police department and a group of recruits in training and one of their lieutenants.

Greer is a hardass, yall. And has a pretty dirty mouth. But, yall. Seriously. This one had me melting. Who could resist that?!!

3.5 stars-- Midnight Rescue (Killer Instincts #1) by Elle Kennedy

This series, yall, it's something. A band of female assassins heading off against a team of male mercenaries. And their bosses...who cannot stand one other. Damn inconvenient when their operatives start meeting and falling in love. Damn it all!
The Gist: Abby blew her cover. Got herself thrown in a torture chamber and well and truly fucked. But she had her reasons. 13 of them in fact--young girls about to be sold into sex slavery. She just needed to get close enough to them to mount a one woman rescue. Which got all blown to hell when her boss tapped a group of mercenaries to rescue her. Oy! Now they'll all have to figure a way to get back and save the young ladies before it's too late.

4 stars-- Holding Strong (Ultimate #2) by Lori Foster

Foster has been one of my favorites for years but I've gotten a bit behind on her books. *flails* But! I'm working on catching up and that included Holding Strong. Totally on my BloggerShame pile. Again, *flails* I had a fab time with it, though.

The Gist: Cherry has been wanting Denver for long as she can remember but the man is damn stubborn and resists all her ample charms. Until she flirts with another man one time too many and... he snaps. And, Cherry gets hers. Mmhm. Seems Devner's wanted her all this time, too, and there's only so much resisting a man can do. Woo! But a bit of drama from her childhood is about to put a damper on all their nekkid frolicking.

2 stars-- Accidentally Hers (Sterling Canyon, #1) by Jamie Beck

Such a cute cover! I was like yes! I need this! But, yall, there was a struggle. Accidentally Hers was not my cuppa at all.

The Gist: Grey was just minding his own business when a drunk driver hit him. Turns out it's the brother of the girl who'd caught his eye. A sticky spot to be put in for sure. Especially when his injuries keep him from actually doing his job and legal matters have to be taken into consideration.

[quote-tastic] 4 stars-- Dragon Soul (Dragon Falls #3) by Katie MacAlister

Katie MacAlister is something...special. I enjoy her humor. The little bit of silly and ridiculous mixed into the action and romance. Her characters just make me laugh.

Nipple nubs, indeed! This quote gave me a chuckle.

3.5 stars-- Forbidden Fling (Wildwood, #1) by Skye Jordan

Whew! Talk about some sizzling chemistry! I enjoyed Forbidden Fling quite a bit. A flawed hero, a heroine out of options, life dreams at odds with one another, undeniable attraction, a family feud. It kept me eagerly listening.

The Gist:
Delaney inherited a vacant bar. It's pretty much sat crumbing for years but with the threat of demolition it's now or never where renovation is concerned. But her presence and reviving the bar bring up all sorts of ugly memories connected with a death on it's premises years earlier and  put a snag in Ethan's future as well.

4 stars-- Midnight Games (Killer Instincts, #3) by Elle Kennedy

Holy crap! Now that's how you do a romantic-suspense! A scorching slow burn romance and suspense that'll get your heart pounding. Excellent!
The Gist: Trevor and his team of mercenaries have gone through hell and come out the other side needing help tracking down those responsible. Isabel and the assassins she works with... are just what they need. Their bosses may hate each other but whenever these two are in a room together sparks fly and temptation hits hard and heavy. Even in the face of danger.

3.5 stars-- Three the Hard Way (ACRO #7) by Sydney Croft

Yall! This was one of the first erotic series I devoured back before the blog. I seriously love me some ACRO. It's all about humans with special enhanced abilities that do all kinds of sexy super hero things. I'd been holding off on Three the Hard Way because I'm really not into mm. And, while it was a decent action packed--in more ways than one--novella it confirmed that, yeah, mm, totally not my thing.
The Gist: Needing to be rescued...sucks. Both your exes-- the betraying bastards!-- showing up and getting trapped in a one bedroom Alaskan bunker during a blizzard together? Fuck a duck. Seriously?

3.5 stars-- A Duke in the Night (The Devils of Dover, #1) by Kelly Bowen

Well hello yummy cover!

The Gist:

When his sister sneaks away in the middle of the night August figures he can just kill two birds with one stone-- hunt down his handful of a sister and suss out a new business opportunity. The school for young ladies where he finds her? Way more than meets the eye and quite possibly something that will change both of their lives forever.

3.5 stars-- Veiled Magic (Veiled Magic #1) by Deborah Blake

A new urban fantasy series by one of my favorite authors? Yes, please! Veiled Magic definitely caught my attention and was a fun time as a ragtag group of misfit paranormals are tasked with, well, saving the world.
The Gist: Donata's a bit bored at work. All her time is spent in the precinct basement and, well, she's ready to spread her wings as a cop and get out in the field. And then one minute you're talking to a dead man like normal and then ya find yourself stealing an enchanted painting with the help of two hunky yet damaged men and on the run from, well, everyone other than them. Yeah. Be careful what you wish for.

4 stars-- Smooth-Talking Cowboy (Gold Valley #1) by Maisey Yates

Hands down. You need some Yates in your life! Honest to goodness. The woman knows how to deliver one lickable cowboy.
The Gist: The only thing worse than being stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire? Being rescued by the man who drives you batshit insane and gets under your skin like no one else.
Trying times, yall. Trying times. But seeing as Olivia needs a hot guy to make her ex jealous and Luke needs help in buying a property he wants... a bargain is made. They'll both get what they want if they can survive 'dating' one another for just a little while.

1 star-- The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never #1) by J.A. Redmerski

Well, this was unfortunate. The Edge of Never has been sitting on my review pile since ,well, forever. And I finally dove in. And, yall. Ugh. It definitely landed on my "did I read a different book than everyone else" shelf.

The Gist: Camryn can't deal with her life so she's running away. Yup. Packed a bag and booked it to the bus station picking a random spot across country based on what the ticket agent was eating. And she meets a guy.

4 stars-- Just To Be With You (Seattle Sullivans #4) by Bella Andre

Bella Andre is such a comfort read. Just to Be With You had some sexy, some sweet and as usual was just a good time spent reading.

The Gist: Tatiana's been smitten with Ian Sullivan since meeting him at a wedding. When she realizes she needs help figuring out an upcoming movie role she's all over asking the handsome CEO if she can shadow him for a little while. If she can convince him to fall madly in love with her, too? Even better!

1.5 stars-- Luckiest Cowboy of All (happy, Texas #3) by Carolyn Brown

Luckiest Cowboy of All my ample white ass! This book made me so mad!

The Gist: Charlene's decided she needs roots and it's time to head back home 9 years after she packed up her bags and fled. Those 9 years? Well she's been hiding her daughter from the baby daddy. Now she's just hoping maybe he won't realize he's the daddy until she's ready to tell him.  Ugh!

3 stars-- Blood Oath (Laura Elliston/Sawbones #2) by Melissa Lenhardt

I'd heard good things about this series and was excited to dive into the gritty wild west adventure but in the end wasn't totally enamored by Blood Oath.
The Gist: Laura and Kindle are on the run. She's been accused of murder and he's abandoned his military post to help her escape and flee though the dangers of the frontier--battling harsh climates, nature, bounty hunters, outlaws and Indian attacks-- in search of a safe haven.

{Quote-tastic} 4 stars-- Sin With Me (Bad Habit #3) by J.T. Geissinger

Soooo. Yeah. I may be obsessed with this series. Lordy! So much sexy goodness.

Today's Quote-tastic. Yall. I was rolling! Everyone-- the band, the girlfriends, bodyguard, etc-- is hanging out in the waiting room at the hospital while their friends have a baby and this. Omg this...

4 stars-- Indecent Exposure (Academy #2) by Tessa Bailey

*happy dance* When I spotted the series I had to give it a go. Love me some Tessa Bailey. Plus...yummy cover. Yep. Want!

So today's quote. It made me laugh. The heroine is from Ireland and in the US to help train at a police academy and they get an unexpected visit...

4 stars-- Killer Jam (Dewberry Farm #1) by Karen MacInerney

I've been using audio to try new authors and decided to give Killer Jam a try because I like the narrator. And it was good, yall! I might have even listened to it twice now because I forgot to review it the first go around. Oops! It was just as entertaining the second time, though, which is impressive.
The Gist: During the town festival someone met their maker in the jam tent. And Lucy? Well, she's the main suspect. She and the dead lady had been having a disagreement over Lucy's newly purchased farm and been overheard. Damn timing! With a lazy Sheriff on the case it's up to Lucy to clear her own name and hunt down the real killer.

4 stars-- About That Kiss (Heartbreaker Bay #5) by Jill Shalvis

Oh yeah. Jill Shalvis. So you know it's gonna be a quote-tastic post. I had such a good time with About That Kiss and actually read it twice (might have forgotten to review it that first time, oops!)

So this first one just made me laugh. Gotta know yourself, right? lol
