4 stars-- Hard Sell (21 Wall Street #2) by Lauren Layne

Oh dear. Enemies to lovers, indeed!
The Gist: Matt and Sabrina? Well they hate each other. Probably. They sure fight like cats and dogs whenever they within arms distance of each other. But Matt has a problem. His reputation and his job are on the line after a wild trip to Vegas and he needs his image cleaned up. Namely...settling down with a good woman. Sabrina? Well she's the best "fixer" out there. Much to her dismay the only solution to this problem is for her to play the part of that "good woman".

[QuoteTasic] Dangerous Beauty (Dangerous Beauty #1) by J.T. Geissinger

Okay. So these two. They have one crazy odd relationship. They're kinda like guy friends who are constantly slamming each other and trying to one up each other with insults/jabs. It's all good natured and they're both into it and it's just kinda funny watching them spar.

3.5 stars-- Ache for You (Slow Burn #3) by J.T. Geissinger

Oh my word. I was wishing for a rouge llama to run this hero the fuck over for a good damn while. Whew!

The Gist: Life is an absolute bitch some days. Being stood up at the alter, a family crisis and finding out you now have a step mom, step sisters...who are dogs and an evil step brother intent on stealing away your inheritance? Yeah. Kimber is about done with that shit.

4 stars-- Hot Asset (21 Wall Street #1) by Lauren Layne

Whoa. It's been an age since I did a quote-tastic post. Sorry about that for those who have joined in on them. I'm going to try to start doing them on Thursdays again. Fingers crossed, yall.

Anywho. This scene cracked me up. I love a cheeky character. lol

4 stars-- A Bone to Pick (Widow's Island #2) by Melinda Leigh

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Ooh yes. A Bone to Pick was a nice mystery that kept me guessing and left me even more curious about Widow's Island.
The Gist: An artist has been killed and naked paintings uncovered in his studio? Well they make for lots of potential suspects. They sure do.

4 stars-- Close to the Bone (Widow's Island #1) by Kendra Elliot

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Close to the Bone was my first time with Elliot. And, oh, yall, I enjoyed it! I picked it up because I have been loving Melinda Leigh. They co-write this series and Leigh writes book 2. So a new author to try. And she was fun!
The Gist: Cate's been sent home to the island she grew up on to recuperate after being shot on the job. But during her down time...bones are found and with no one able to travel to the island she's called up to work the case. One that might be quite personal depending on who's bones they turn out to be.

2 stars-- Accidentally Hers (Sterling Canyon, #1) by Jamie Beck

Such a cute cover! I was like yes! I need this! But, yall, there was a struggle. Accidentally Hers was not my cuppa at all.

The Gist: Grey was just minding his own business when a drunk driver hit him. Turns out it's the brother of the girl who'd caught his eye. A sticky spot to be put in for sure. Especially when his injuries keep him from actually doing his job and legal matters have to be taken into consideration.

3.5 stars-- Forbidden Fling (Wildwood, #1) by Skye Jordan

Whew! Talk about some sizzling chemistry! I enjoyed Forbidden Fling quite a bit. A flawed hero, a heroine out of options, life dreams at odds with one another, undeniable attraction, a family feud. It kept me eagerly listening.

The Gist:
Delaney inherited a vacant bar. It's pretty much sat crumbing for years but with the threat of demolition it's now or never where renovation is concerned. But her presence and reviving the bar bring up all sorts of ugly memories connected with a death on it's premises years earlier and  put a snag in Ethan's future as well.

Soooo. Yeah. I may be obsessed with this series. Lordy! So much sexy goodness.

Today's Quote-tastic. Yall. I was rolling! Everyone-- the band, the girlfriends, bodyguard, etc-- is hanging out in the waiting room at the hospital while their friends have a baby and this. Omg this...

4 stars-- Make Me Sin (Bad Habit #2) by J.T. Geissinger

Yall! I've found a new favorite series! Geissinger has totally blown me away with these. They've got so many layers and even though there's some dark elements there are some hilarious ones.

This had me chuckling. Chloe's late to a bridal fitting for one of her best friends...

3-3.5 stars--- Wrong Number, Right Guy (The Bourbon Street Boys #1) by Elle Casey

I didn't hate it!

Which is surprising after seeing the reviews from friends.

So, the gist. May, she lands herself in the middle of a biker bar... in a shootout. Because of a wrong number. OOps! And now she's got to put her trust-- or at least a little-- in one of the bad guys. Who might not be a bad guy. But surely isn't a safe bet, either. Mmhm.

4 stars-- The VIP Doubles Down (Wager of Hearts #3) by Nancy Herkness

Nancy Herkness totally charmed me with her Wager of Hearts series. Three sexy alpha males who in a drunken moment made a bet. A bet to... find true love. How stinking cute is that? Yep. They have one year to find the women who make them swoon. So much fun! The VIP Doubles Down was all about Gavin-- the writer with a massive case of writers block and a damn hard time trusting anyone. Especially women.

4 stars--The CEO Buys In (Wager of Hearts #1) by Nancy Herkness

I'm not usually fond of betting themes but a group of men betting on finding true love and romance? I. Am. In. I had a good time with The CEO Buys In. A sexy, commanding hero and a strong willed and caring heroine with scorching chemistry? Yep. Yep. Definitely in.

The quick of it is that Nathan has found himself drowning his woes of the female variety at his club one night. And it's ended with a unique bet as his two new acquaintances--who are feeling pretty damn meh over things in their own lives--make a drunken bet. They're going wife hunting. They need things to change in their lives and they're gonna find true love to fix it. They've got one year to find that woman and win her heart. For Nathan it hit him a little quicker than expected in the form of his temp assistant. A spunky woman who's not at all impressed with his wealth or company and that intrigues him something fierce.

Deadly, Calm, and Cold (The Collectors #2) by Susannah Sandlin

How far will ordinary people go to protect their secrets? The Collectors’ games are as much about manipulating lives as finding lost treasure. Everyone is expendable as the ruthless C7 pushes people into gambling with their lives in order to find priceless objects lost to history.

Samantha Crowe’s secrets could ruin her career, while Brody Parker’s could get him killed. They become pawns for two Collectors seeking Bad King John’s crown jewels, which disappeared in rural England back when Robin Hood roamed Nottingham. This time, however, the Collectors—a ruthless dotcom billionaire and a desperate London detective—might not be playing for the same team, leaving Sam and Brody trapped in the middle.

One thing’s for sure: if either hopes to survive, Sam and Brody will have to find a way to overcome their distrust—and their growing attraction—in order to succeed on this winner-take-all treasure hunt.

Type: Light Romantic-Suspense
Heat: 2.5 out of 5
Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Amazon | Book Depository | BAM | Goodreads
Something about Deadly, Calm and Cold just screamed out "Anna you must read me!!!!". And so I did... and yay I'm glad I listen to random book demands :) It was one of those books that was just easy to get in to with likable characters, light suspense and light romance. Plus, you know, sexy artist, a backdrop of the English countryside and a little danger as Sam and Brody hunt for a centuries old treasure, deal with blackmailers and a clock counting down until their time is up and their lives ruined by said blackmailer. Yep it was a pretty good time.
