3 stars-- Merry Ex-Mas (Life in Icicle Falls #2) by Sheila Roberts

Ahhh! I wanted a warm fuzzy Christmas comfort read. Merry Ex-Mas was not it. It was a bit depressing, really. It was my first from Roberts and while I didn't hate it I really didn't love it either.
The Gist: A group of girlfriends who have been unlucky in love are having to deal with their ex-s. One ex coming back for their daughter's wedding (with new wife in tow), one ex wanting a second chance, and a young couple recently divorced and wondering if they've been too hasty.

3.5 stars-- Marrying Mr. English (The English Brothers 0.5) by Katy Regnery

Aw Marrying Mr. English was a sweet Christmas romance as you jump back in time to the parents from the series and watch them find their happily ever after way back in the 1980s.
The Gist: Tom is in a bind. If he doesn't find a wife in the next couple days...he'll lose his inheritance. Eleanora is a down on her luck waitress who's more than willing to join forces in exchange for a boost to her bank account. Perfect! A quickie marriage and they'll both have everything they wanted and can go their separate ways. But...things rarely go as planned.

[AtoZ] 3.5 stars -- A Nice Day for a Cowboy Wedding (A Mile High Romance #4) by Nicole Helm

Cowboys and Nicole Helm? I. Was. In!
The Gist: Shane's current mission? Stopping his mom's upcoming wedding. Cora's mission? Making sure that wedding happens come hell or high water. And get that reluctant cowboy to walk his mama down the aisle. *nods*

4 stars-- Hot Asset (21 Wall Street #1) by Lauren Layne

Whoa. It's been an age since I did a quote-tastic post. Sorry about that for those who have joined in on them. I'm going to try to start doing them on Thursdays again. Fingers crossed, yall.

Anywho. This scene cracked me up. I love a cheeky character. lol

Charming (A Cinderella Billionaire Story #1) by Sophie Brooks

Charming was, indeed, charming. I love fairytale retellings and unique meet-cutes? Even better.
The Gist: Ford and Autumn? The meet when he calls into the fantasy hotline--where Autumn works--looking to get his rocks off. Okay, well, maybe just to talk. Really. That's all he wants. Not the "naughty nurse" or the "sexy submissive" just Autumn. So he calls. And they talk. Often. Until one night an emergency brings their relationship off the phones and into real life.

[3.5 stars] Whiskey Rebellion (Addison Holmes Mysteries #1) by Liliana Hart

3.5 stars, 1.5 heat

Whiskey Rebellion has been sitting on my tbr pile for, well, ages. I finally dove in! Yay me! And while a little over the top in places it was so much fun!
The Gist: Addison has her eye on a new place-- her apartment is being condemned. And the girl LOVES her creature comforts. Which means...she needs money. Pronto. If she's gotta play stripper to pay the bills...well, she's gotta do what she's gotta do. *nods* Finding a dead body her first night might put a stop to that real quick, though.

Ghostly Paws (Mystic Notch #1) by Leighann Dobbs

Bookstore owners, kitties with a mission, a murdered librarian. Oh. My! Ghostly Paws was a spooktacular good time.
The Gist: On her way to work Willa noticed the library doors open earlier than they should have been and went investigating aaaaaaaand found the librarian dead at the bottom of the stairs. A simple fall...probably. Maybe. But something is off. She's sure of it. Especially when the librarian's ghost comes to visit her. O.o

The Christmas Bear Brothers by Harmony Raines

A trio of bears! At Christmas! Yes, please! #ThingsThatAreMyCatnip

The Christmas Bear Brothers series is all about three brother bears. Bachelors. But not by choice. They want a change. They want their mates! Dang it! Where are their mates! Alas, they'll spend yet another Christmas working --a cop, a fireman and an EMT-- so coworkers can spend time with their families. Unless Fate steps in...

The House on Main Street (Apple Valley #1) by Shirlee McCoy

I am such a sucker for a pretty house and a winter wonderland. Basically, The House on Main Street was all OMG Anna! You neeeeed me!
The Gist: Tessa's found herself back in her small hometown--the last place she wants to be-- caring for her young nephew after her sister's death and cleaning up all of the messes she left behind. Not to mention coming face to face with her childhood crush? Well. It's a lot for a girl to handle on a good day.

[quote-tastic] Her Cowboy Billionaire Best Friend (Christmas in Coral Canyon #1) by Liz Isaacson

So a quote today that made me smile. Graham and Laney are a bit older than the typical romance hero and heroine (in their 40s) and they're really rather hesitant and shy about starting things up. Something about that to me is just so dang sweet.

3 stars-- Emergency Engagement (Love Emergency, #1) by Samanthe Beck

Beck is so fun. Christmas, a fake romance, a sexy EMT? Oh lordy, yes, please!
The Gist: It's Christmas and Beau's parents? Well, they've just found him in his neighbor's bedroom coping a feel. I mean, that's what they think they've found (it's totally not) and they're..ecstatic! And Beau decides to ask his neighbor-- who's a stranger-- if she'll, you know, be his fake fiance for the holidays just to ease their minds a little more.

Jill Shalvis! Yay! I've been binge reading her backlist this year and that included trying the Wilder siblings who own an outdoor adventure business.

This gave me a laugh. Damn, indeed!

[4.5 stars] Whiskey River Rescue (Whiskey River #1) by Justine Davis

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Oh my! Whiskey River Rescue was quite the surprise! Starting with the hero tearing down the heroine's house. Without telling her. Yall!

I was sitting over here going someone needs to die.

I really was.

But the house tearing down jerk...he managed to win me over completely and leave me crying. The hell?!! lol

The Gist: Kelsey is having a shitstorm of a day. Starting with the land she rents being sold and then her house being torn down leaving her AND her rescue horses... homeless. All blame lands on one` crazy man. The town recluse. And that man's about to get an earful, too. Because, seriously?!!

2 stars-- Royal Date (The Royals of Monterra, #1) by Sariah Wilson

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Eh. If you've watched a Hallmark movie with a royal family you basically know the gist of Royal Date. Poor heroine on holiday catches a Prince's eye and then winds up hurt and taken under his wing for the holidays. He's smitten, she resists, the temptation of betraying him is presented, she breaks up with him yada yada.

4 stars-- Close to the Bone (Widow's Island #1) by Kendra Elliot

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Close to the Bone was my first time with Elliot. And, oh, yall, I enjoyed it! I picked it up because I have been loving Melinda Leigh. They co-write this series and Leigh writes book 2. So a new author to try. And she was fun!
The Gist: Cate's been sent home to the island she grew up on to recuperate after being shot on the job. But during her down time...bones are found and with no one able to travel to the island she's called up to work the case. One that might be quite personal depending on who's bones they turn out to be.

4 stars-- Bluegrass State of Mind (Bluegrass #1) by Kathleen Brooks

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

The cover got me. I'm a cover ho. I won't lie. But I had a good time with it, too.

This scene gave me a laugh. The ladies were having a rough go of things that day and decided to take it out on dessert.

1 star-- The Rescuer by Ann Omasta

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

What the fresh fucking hell?! This is one of those reads someone should have stepped in and said no. Just...no. What a ridiculous mess. I'm actually kind of pissed it wasted my time. Yall. I'm about to have me a rant. So, yeah, there will be spoilers in this review.
The Gist: The heroine finds herself at the bank during a robbery and offers herself up as the hostage so they'll leave a little deaf girl alone. She'd been eye fucking the girl's daddy while waiting in line and just couldn't let her be taken.

4 stars-- Keep Me, Cowboy (77th Copper Mountain Rodeo #3) by Nicole Helm

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Oh goodness. Helm does know how to give you down to their bones fucked up and broken characters and make you ache for them. Keep Me, Cowboy was a short read but one full of feels as a family is forced to face how messed up they've become over the years and tries to piece their lives back together.
The Gist: 10 years earlier Cole left town and the girl he loved. He thought he was doing the right thing at the time but now that she's forcing him to come back to town and face his family (the one she wishes were her own) and her? Well, he's realizing maybe he hadn't had it right all those years ago after all.

The Cowboy's Runaway Bride (The McCall Brothers #3) by Laurie LeClair

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

The Cowboy's Runaway Bride was a cute read.

The Gist: A smarmy groom and a bride deciding oh hell no and making a run for it. A sexy cowboy unwittingly helping her escape. A little fib of having amnesia and hiding out with him and his family on their ranch while she figured things out. And maybe finding herself a stand up man in the process. Mmhm.

3 stars-- Bluegrass Undercover (Bluegrass Brothers #1) by Kathleen Brooks

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Bluegrass Undercover was pretty good. I snagged it because hello *pets the pretty cover* and supposedly it was book one (it's not, start here) so...why not.
The gist: A new drug's targeting high school athletes and Annie's been sent in undercover as a school guidance counselor to try and figure out who is behind the new drug.  And she kinda finds herself landing the much sought after coach, too.
