Well hello yummy cover!
The Gist:
When his sister sneaks away in the middle of the night August figures he can just kill two birds with one stone-- hunt down his handful of a sister and suss out a new business opportunity. The school for young ladies where he finds her? Way more than meets the eye and quite possibly something that will change both of their lives forever.

3.5 stars-- Veiled Magic (Veiled Magic #1) by Deborah Blake
A new urban fantasy series by one of my favorite authors? Yes, please! Veiled Magic definitely caught my attention and was a fun time as a ragtag group of misfit paranormals are tasked with, well, saving the world.
The Gist: Donata's a bit bored at work. All her time is spent in the precinct basement and, well, she's ready to spread her wings as a cop and get out in the field. And then one minute you're talking to a dead man like normal and then ya find yourself stealing an enchanted painting with the help of two hunky yet damaged men and on the run from, well, everyone other than them. Yeah. Be careful what you wish for.

3 stars-- Blood Oath (Laura Elliston/Sawbones #2) by Melissa Lenhardt
I'd heard good things about this series and was excited to dive into the gritty wild west adventure but in the end wasn't totally enamored by Blood Oath.
The Gist: Laura and Kindle are on the run. She's been accused of murder and he's abandoned his military post to help her escape and flee though the dangers of the frontier--battling harsh climates, nature, bounty hunters, outlaws and Indian attacks-- in search of a safe haven.

4 stars-- The Rogue Is Back in Town (The Wayward Wallflowers #3) by Anna Bennett
I had such a lovely time with The Rogue is Back in Town--A sticky situation, a frazzled heroine and a rogue that simply will not go away.
The Gist: Sam's brother has tasked him with evicting a family from one of his properties. Not something Sam's all that keen on doing but it's that or be cut off completely. Financially and from the only family he has left. So off he goes. A simple task, really. Except the young woman in question? She refuses to leave. So Sam? He moves in with her. Mmhm.

4 stars-- Duke of Desire (Maiden Lane #12) by Elizabeth Hoyt
Compelling, dark, passionate. Hoyt holds no punches with Duke of Desire and her edgy Maiden Lane series.
The Gist: Mistaken identity, kidnapping, winding up the center of a debauched orgy filled with evil men of the ton who prey on women and young boys. Yes, Iris has had better days.
As has her rescuer who she kinda maybe shoots accidentally on purpose. Woosh.

4 stars-- Twelfth Night with the Earl (The Sutherland Sisters #3) by Anna Bradley

A grumbly growly Christmas averse earl arriving at his estate--one he thought was empty--to find... a Christmas party in full swing! And an oh-so aggravating housekeeper--his childhood friend-- leading the festivities.
It's really more than a drunken Christmasly disinclined earl can handle once his flask runs dry. lol

4 stars-- Once Upon a Maiden Lane (Maiden Lane #12.5) by Elizabeth Hoyt
I needed a little romance this morning.
And Henry? Oh, Henry was ready to step up give me a little shiver.
Basically, Henry's spent his whole life knowing he'd marry a family friend--their parents arranged it. But, suddenly, he's found himself engaged to someone else. Someone who's feeling a little insecure about how little time they've had to learn one another.

4 stars-- To Marry a Texas Outlaw (Men of Legend #3) by Linda Broday
Broday has me hooked. I'm enjoying this family. Their honor, their strength, even their stubbornness. These men are something else. That's for sure.
The Gist: Luke's an outlaw trying to go straight but before he can accept being part of his newfound family he's got it in his head he needs to right all his past wrongs and, well, clear his name for a murder he didn't commit. And in the process of driving his family crazy with "I can do it myself" stubbornness he picks up a woman who's lost her memory, a kid, a dog and a kitten. And a whole herd of trouble hounding his heels.

4 stars-- The Danger of Desire (Sinful Suitors #3) by Sabrina Jeffries
#BloggerShame, yall. Blogger Shame. I read The Danger of Desire way back before it released last year and then... I forgot to review it. By the time I realized, yeah, I couldn't remember details so had to re-read. And, oh, I had just as much fun this time!
The Gist: Family is difficult. And meddlesome. And sometimes that lands you watching over a chit you don't even know and who's courting scandal with apparent relish! I mean, honestly, men's clothing, late night prowling, gambling in the hells?! What's a rakish Marquess to do with a woman like that?! Drive her mad and make her his, of course!

4 stars-- Lady Charlotte's First Love (The Sutherland Sisters #2) by Anna Bradley
Aaaaahhh, Anna Bradley. It wouldn't be one of her books if I didn't want to stab someone at least once!
Quick of it is that Charlotte's having a wild-widow-loose-in-London breakdown and her family is all ohmahgawd we have to do something so they bring in Julian who has his own holy-shit-I'm-all-fucked-up thing going on and task him with getting Charlotte to leave the city and retire to the country with her family where she'll hopefully not cause her ruin with her crazy antics. Of course last time they saw each other shit did not go down well. So, yes. This will go well. Especially after he finds her smoking and drinking in a whore house. Erms. Yall. Widow-gone-wild. I'm telling you.

3.5 stars-- When the Scoundrel Sins (Capturing the Carlisles, #2) by Anna Harrington
Ever want to just yell -- motherfucker!!-- out a window? No? Just me? Hmmm Well, I certainly wanted to do just that for Annabelle and Quinn. Whew boy, yall! They had quite the situation.
The Gist: Annabelle is set to inherit an estate but there's a stipulation. She has to marry before her 25th birthday or the estate will pass on to someone else. See? Motherfucker! And Quinn just wants to escape to America but he's been summoned to help find Annabelle a proper suitor first. Yeah, the very Annabelle he accidentally ruined years earlier. And who tempts him something fierce. Again. Motherfucker!

4 stars-- To Love a Texas Ranger (Men of Legend #1) by Linda Broday
Soo. Yall know I don't read blurbs. And for a while I kept thinking oh please be a menage!
"Weston, tell me this: Why were you on the train?"I mean, seriously!! Tell me. Would you be thinking...mmhm. We're gonna have some historical naughtiness right here. lol But, yeah, no. Totally innocent on that front. Heh. Anywho...
"Wanted to make sure you got home. Knew you were still struggling, that you couldn't do your job. In the months of you chasing me and having to use all my wits to stay free... I don't know... I guess a bond of some sort or another formed. The chase became the game."
It certainly hadn't been a game to Sam. But Luke was right about growing close. Something deeper ran between them. "You noticed it too? The bond, I mean?"
"Yep." Luke licked his dry lips.

4 stars-- Say Yes to the Marquess (Castles Ever After #2) by Tessa Dare
I read my first Tessa Dare!! Yall! I'd been SO nervous! Everyone loves her and I was all panicky that I'd be the odd girl out. lol I needn't have worried. Say Yes to the Marquess was delightful!
The Gist? Clio's fiance has strung her along for 8 long years while he travels the world. She's damn tired of waiting and ready to take matters into her own hands. Namely...breaking their engagement. She just needs is his brother--who's managing things-- to sign some papers. Blast the man. He thinks she should plan the wedding instead and jumps in to help do just that.

4 stars-- Knight on the Texas Plains (Texas Heroes #1) by Linda Broday
Well I'll be adding more of Linda Broday's books to my wishlist. Knight on the Texas Plains... total book goodness.
The Gist: Since his wife's death Duel has given up on life. He's got nothing to live for until one night changes everything and his hands are suddenly full of a whole heap of female he needs to pull his shit together for--a tiny baby girl no one wants and an injured woman with secrets to hide. His only plan? Head back to his family ranch and start trying to heal not just himself but two women who are just as broken and wounded as he is and counting on him.

3.5 stars-- From Duke Till Dawn (The London Underground #1) by Eva Leigh
So dang pretty! And a fun read, too. From Duke Till Dawn was...intriguing.
The Gist: A couple years back Cassandra, well, she swindled our dear proper Duke then dashed away in the middle of the night with him none the wiser. He's never forgotten the sexy widow and when he stumbles on her in a random gaming hell he's thinking luck is on his side again! Until he realizes he'd been a mark all those years ago. Talk about an ego blow! Damn if he doesn't want in her swindling naughty girl historical panties, though. And she might just want that, too!

4 stars--The Outlaw (Where the Trail Ends #3) by Anna Schmidt
The Outlaw was everything I love about Schmidt's book-- a little danger, a little intrigue, characters that feel real and are endearing even in their flaws. The heart and will to endure, flourish and go after what you really want in life. They're just fantastic reads that'll sweep you away and into the lives of the characters she brings to life. Honestly, Schmidt never fails to deliver a knock out romance.
The quick of The Outlaw is that Amanda has been craving adventure and she's finally getting her chance to spread her wings and do something different-- moving to Tuscon and teaching. She might be going into that second bit reluctantly but adventure is calling her something fierce. And the temptation of one of her fellow boarders--who might be on the wrong side of the law-- is just as alluring.

4 stars-- To Kiss a Kilted Warrior (Claimed by the Highlander #3) by Rowan Keats #QuoteTastic
Highlanders!!! nom nom nom!
I read To Kiss A Kilted Warrior way back in 2014. And then promptly forgot to review it. *hangs head* And so it's sat on my NetGalley shelf since then. Figured it was time to give it a re-read And...so so good! Loved it just as much the second go round. I enjoyed the hero and heroine together. They're really rather funny. Wulf gave me a giggle in this one...
