3 stars-- A Touch of Frost by Jo Goodman #QuoteTastic

I love me some Jo Goodman. So I was pretty excited about this one. It kicks off with the heroine getting kidnapped and at some point Phoebe and the hero Remington leave the ranch to head out and see if they can find any clues about the guys who kidnapped her. And they kind of flub things because the skies...open up and they get caught in a massive downpour on a cold day. They'd finally made it to a cabin and this bit just cracked me up.

I did like this heroine.

Goodman has quickly become one of my favorites when it comes to historical western romances. Utterly captivating and full of grit, humor, and beautiful romances. They're just an amazing time.

Now, this first one. Kids don't usually work for me in books but Annaleah (who is 10 and the heroine's sister) is freaking hilarious. This is early on when she's just found the hero laying in their fields a good way towards dead and he just wants to be left alone and she just keeps on talking and talking at him.

This Gun for Hire was kind of like floating down a slow moving river <you know, if nature didn't freak me the fuck out>. Relaxing, easily twisting and turning and taking you along for a ride that just leaves you smiling. Tinged with an undercurrent of excitement and thrill. And that's so what I love about Jo Goodman's books!

In Want of a Wife was so one of those reads I just didn't want to give up! Seriously yall I was glued to my book the whole time as Jane leaves her life on the east coast to marry a man who placed an ad for a wife. One she's written to but never met until now.

Today is a new to me author--review will be up later today. So in this one we have what amounts to a mail order bride and the American West in it's wee days. It was a great read and I'm so gonna be reading more from Goodman. Anyways. In this scene the hero and heroine have been cornered by two of the town's boys who are rather chatty and cheeky and just too cute. I loved all of the scenes with them :) This little reply from him totally had me smirking.
