Growl. Herd. Frustration. Figured I'd bundle all that up for this month's prompt and tell yall about Cleo.

If you follow me on FB or other social media you know Cleo has been having a medical battle this last month. It's been...complicated.

The Eclipse... Two Months Late! Plus! Pups, Pig Cakes, My Birthday and My Family!

Soooo. Two months and a pinch later I'm actually doing my Eclipse post. Bet yall thought you'd not have to see anything about the eclipse until 2024 when the next one comes around. Bwahaha. Nope. So.... my trip.

Starting with BabyG who was NOT pleased that she wasn't allowed to go to South Carolina with me. Not pleased at all, yall.

The herd. I get asked about the herd...often. So I figured I'd let them hijack the blog now and again and them tell you all about themselves. They're characters for sure. Anywho. Today...the herd boy.

Randomly Random-- So. The Train happened. And it was something!

*waves* Hey guys! It's been a little quiet on the blog the last few days. If you're in the FB group you already know I went to Florida! It was the first time I've been able to get home in 8 years (ack!) and was my first time taking the train on a long trip too. 

Figured I'd share a little about the trip :) I'll be around to catch up on everyone's blogs the next few days and will get things going on here too. Didn't realize until I got home my mom didn't have wifi so my laptop was useless and she's in the middle of the country so my phone was pretty useless for updates and such too. *flails* lol

More Cat Thursday Posts

August has been a hard month with the herd. My mom lost one of her boys suddenly and this week I lost the herd eldest, Piedmont. He was one of my semi-ferals and we're guessing around 15 years old. He was a rather...difficult boy most of his life. Very strong, very anti doing whatever any human said and would run and fight until you left him be. But man we loved him. This week he started crashing and it turned out he had kidney disease. He spent a few days at the vet on meds and letting us love on him (a rarity) and finally decided he was ready to go so we had to say good-bye.

I really don't want this to be a sad post though.

I wanted to share a bit about my boy and ask that yall share happy memories from your herd angels too.

I'm disappearing for a little while...

Hey guys--Just wanted to fill you in on what's going on on my side of things right now. I'm going to be pretty quiet the next week or so. Things will still be going live on the blog and I hope you'll check them out and leave the authors some love...I just won't be around much myself. I lost a herd babe very suddenly last week then yesterday had to rush two more to the emergency vet. We're not sure what's going on with them but it's connected and spreading through the herd. About 1/2 the herd is showing signs of early to severe liver failure.  The others are all doing fine so far just being watched very closely.

So yesterday was herd baby Gladys' birthday! She turned 5 years old. Whew it's flown by! 

I've had Gladys since the day she was born and abandoned with her siblings (without their mom) at one of the local shelters. 

 She's still a tiny thing, sitting in my lap at this very moment, and rules over us all.
Thought I'd share some of her pictures from growing up and some of the more recent ones for today's post :)

Hello kittens! I'm back from my trip (had a great time!) and *knock on wood* hopefully life will calm down a bit over here :)

Zachary (A to Z)

Hope everyone's had a great time with the A to Z challenge!

My "little" Zachary was my first pup all on my own. I got him my first semester at college. Adopted him from one of the local rescues when he was just 4 months old.

Preston's Penis (A to Z)

I'm going to tell you a little story about Preston and his penis. It's a story of tragedy, loss and extreme embarrassment. At least on the part of his mom. See, 11 years ago this May I decided, on a whim mind you, to become a turtle mom to Preston and Roma . They were the damned cutest things. Hardly bigger than a quarter and supposedly SO easy to care for. Yeah. Ooookay. 

Gladys Joy (A to Z)

Today....the most important "G", the house baby, Gladys Joy. Sorry if this gets a little long :) She's draped over me right now and keeps yowling at me every time I move. This girl does NOT like to share her momma's attention even if I'm bragging on her.  I adopted her back in 2008, or rather, she claimed me and then waited until I finally figured it all out and filled out paperwork with the rescue. 

Gladys was my first bottle baby and my little one did not have an easy start to life. She and her 3 siblings were left in a metal county shelter drop box in the middle of a March night, still wet from being born,  and without their mom to keep them warm. 

She was a screamer from day one as you can see :)
