Today...Shiloh Walker! She's one of my favorites and, gah, this series...so good! This time around it was two actors who'd know each other since, well, forever. There story wasn't what I was expecting but whew! Good!

This one just cracked me up. I'd be the same damn way if someone came knocking on my door like that. lol Oh, and she's staying at a hotel right now since they're filming for a movie.

One King's Way by Samantha Young & Ex-Con by Shiloh Walker/MS Parker

One King's Way (On Dublin Street #6.5)
by Samantha Young

Oh I do love Young and her men. One King's Way was a fun time as Craig --who is a total flirt and thinks one night stands are the perfect length for a relationship--gets knocked on his ass when a stunning women rocking 40s pin up girl style saunters into his bar and has him thinking maybe, just maybe he's ready to be a one-woman man. Too bad she's only there to get revenge on her sister's ex and isn't one bit wowed by his flirty ways.

Hot Alphas Anthology by Lora Leigh, Laurelin McGee, Shiloh Walker, Kate Douglas

Type: Contemporary Romance w/ Light Suspense

AmazonAll Romance | Book Depository | BAM | Goodreads
*noms* I love a sexy alpha so I was all in when I saw Hot Alphas. Plus the fact that Leigh, Walker and Douglas are favorites? <looks around dreamily> Yes, please! Some good loving, a nice variety of set ups and a tiny bit of suspense made for some good reads for the most part.

I totally expected this to be a complete knock out. But it didn't quite make it there. Douglas and Walker came through with stellar reads that were fun and sexy--though Walker's was a previous release, Leigh brought the only real alpha in the bunch and great characters but McGee. Well. The McGee contribution left me truly livid and wicked pissed. It also brought down the rating to a 3 star and a suggestion that if you want to read this one try to get it via the library. For the price and how insulting I felt the McGee read was I'd have a hard time suggesting otherwise...

Busted (Barnes Brothers #3) by Shiloh Walker

Like his brothers Zach and Zane, Trey Barnes thought he had found the love of his life. But fate had other plans. A widower who’s had to raise his five-year-old son on his own, Trey has not allowed himself to be with another woman. Until he meets Ressa Bliss at—of all places—a children’s library program. The beautiful librarian is wonderful with his son, Clay, but every time Trey even considers asking her out, he is tortured by guilt.

Fate is indeed fickle. When the two meet again at a conference, this time the attraction is too powerful to resist. But is their connection and passion strong enough to survive Trey’s deep inner torment?

Type: Contemporary Romance
Heat: 3 out of 5
Rating: 4 out of 5

Omg Busted was like a book lovers wet dream! I loved it! He's a writer, she's a librarian, there's a book themed restaurant which is like the best. first. date. ever, --and yes, as I type this I'm totally ticking them on my fingers lol--a book conference, fan girling, bookish references to some of my favorite romance authors...I just. So much yay! Seriously. So. Much. Yay! Plus he's hella hot, a single daddy (I'm a sucker for those) and the heroine is a pretty awesome woman as well and rocks some killer tats and style. *whispers one more yay*

Okay so the quick of it is that Trey's wife died years ago and he's been raising his son by himself and not really living his life. Until he spots Ressa. His son's librarian. And suddenly he's feeling...something again. Attraction, desire, you name it. But also guilt and insecurity. And Ressa's got a bit of all that happening too. Though something keeps pulling them together despite their best efforts and, well, heart mending things happen and it's wonderful. Darker and more serious than expected but also had light, sexy and funny happening.

*** This series is best read in order***

This series...just does me in. Walker has held me absolutely captivated as the dark and twisted secrets of this town and it's past unravel bit by bit and the monsters that lurk in it's midst are exposed and others finally find peace. Darker Than Desire was darkly intriguing--brutal, beautiful, heartbreaking and in the end incredibly touching as David and an entire town are thrown back into hell and fight their way to the truth, peace and justice.

Razed (Barnes Brothers #2) by Shiloh Walker (@BerkleyRomance)

Keelie doesn’t believe in the “perfect man.” But the men who are worth the trouble are usually taken—like her business partner Zach Barnes. After a string of bad luck and the lost chance with Zach, Keelie decides that maybe flying solo—and living with suppressed desires—is the key to happiness.

As a photographer, Zane Barnes has an eye for the human form, and his eyes can’t get enough of Keelie’s curves. Unfortunately, Keelie is like most women—always fawning over his little brother, Zach. Zane is about ready to give up, but then a few stolen moments at his brother’s wedding have him thinking maybe there’s a chance there after all. Now he just has to prove that the perfect man does exist…for her.

Type: Contemporary Romance
Heat: 3 out of 5 (though very very limited)
Rating: 4 out of 5

Ooooo now...that was good time! Razed was such a fun romance and damn it had me smiling like a fool for most of it.

I loved these two. Zane's had a thing for Keelie for years without her knowing. She always just thought he was joking when he made comments about dating her but oh he has had it bad and the two together definitely have some fireworks happening. I loved watching them start to figure out their relationship. Keelie who tries so hard to not form bonds and hold people at a distance and Zane who has his own issues but a huge support system with his brothers (who were a freaking riot!). There was a sweetness to these two that just grabbed my heart and had me smiling. They had some pretty funny moments too.

It took years for Adam to stop drowning his regrets in alcohol, and running the local bar doesn’t make it any easier—especially not when everyone he knows gathers there to discuss the shocking allegations that have shattered his hometown. When another murder rocks sleepy Madison to its core, it becomes chillingly clear that even more vicious wounds are waiting to be exposed.

She may have her own dangerous secrets, but she can’t ignore the urgent heat between them any more than he can. As a killer’s quest for vengeance explodes into violence, Adam is tempted to lose himself in the delicious promise of her body—until he realizes he’ll risk anything if she’ll give him her heart…in Sweeter than Sin by Shiloh Walker.

Type: Romantic Suspense
Heat: 3 out of 5
Rating: 4 out of 5

Oh my. Yes. I am totally digging this series from Shiloh Walker. Sweeter Than Sin was one damn sexy romance with a side of suspense that totally messed with my head. Had me fighting mad over a small town and the incredible evil that runs deep into it's roots and hopeful over those that refuse to let it keep destroying lives.

Well now. Deeper Than Need was a fascinating read that held me in it's grip from start to finish as a small town's dirty secrets are ripped from their roots and love finds two damaged souls--hurt badly by love in the past--and sets them to healing. Yeah. It was pretty dang good.

Trinity and her son are needing a do-over and they've moved to a small town and bought an old house in dire need of fixing up. Which brings Noah into their lives and a murder/disappearance mystery from 20 years ago back to the surface when a body is found buried under the floorboard. Rocking the town and Noah since his girlfriend from all those years ago was one of the missing people involved with the case. Que the big owly eyes. Can you imagine?! I would have flipped the feck out over finding a body in my house like that. #ThingsNightmaresAreMadeOf

Sexy, sweet and full of steam. Just what I expect from Shiloh Walker! Burn for Me was a little heartbreaking but at the same time a completely heartwarming glimpse inside the life of Tate as he hits a crossroads in his life. One where he has to decide if holding on to his childhood traumas and anger will keep him from the woman he loves and a future he desperately needs with her and her sons. It's a quick read--only about 80 pages--but pretty satisfying.
