As one of the bastards born to the Stirling court, Sorley the Hawk has never known his mother or father. It's a burning quest he has devoted himself to uncovering at any cost. But as a roguish warrior who serves at the pleasure of the King, his prowess-both on the battlefield and in his bedchamber-is legendary. So when a flame-haired Highland lass sneaks into his quarters with a tantalizing proposition, he can't resist taking her up on her offer . . .

Lady Mirabelle MacLaren will do anything to keep from marrying her odious suitor, even sully her own good name. And who better to despoil her than his sworn enemy, the one they call "Hawk?" As they set about the enjoyable task of ruining her reputation, Hawk and Mirabelle soon learn that rebellion never tasted so sweet.

4 stars! Once Upon A Highland Christmas (Scandalous Scots #0.5) by Sue-Ellen Welfonder

Warrior Grim Mackintosh understands why his friend Archibald MacNab has decreed there be no trace of Christmas in his castle. After a devastating attack destroyed everything-and everyone-in Archie's life, he prefers to stew in his own misery until the holiday passes. But Duncreag has seen enough tragedy. Grim decides to throw a grand Yuletide feast, one that the bards will sing about for years to come, one that will remind his laird how beloved he is. He can't do it alone, though. Grim needs an accomplice . . .

There's nothing Breena O'Doherty won't do for Archie, so she's thrilled to help Grim with his plan. Yet she has a Christmas wish all her own-to win Grim's heart-and this might be her only chance to make it come true. As Breena and Grim work together to bring the joy of the season to the cold, gloomy castle and to the heart of the cantankerous chieftain, an undeniable passion ignites between them. But when a shocking secret about Breena's past comes to light, threatening everything she holds dear, will it ruin Christmas in Duncreag forevermore?

Morning Sue-Ellen! Welcome to herding cats & burning soup! Come on in. It's so cold out I thought a fire and warm cookies would be nice while we chat about your newest release (which I loved by the way).
Thank you so much for inviting me here today, Anna.  I’m so glad you enjoyed Once Upon A Highland Christmas.  I’m happy to chat about the story.  As I love cold, wintry weather, a fire and oven-warm cookies sound perfect.  I’m settling in now, reaching for not one, but two cookies…

At the King's request, chieftain Alasdair MacDonald has sworn to preserve the peace in the Glen of Many Legends. She has loved the rugged Highlander since she first saw him and now, as temptation leads to surrender, Marjory dares to possess him, body and soul. Seduction of a Highland Warrior was indeed seductive. I haven't read too many historical romances set in the 1300s  and Welfonder has me convinced I need to change that and change that quickly. Starting with the rest of her backlist <g> From amazingly strong and sexy characters to a rich, magic laced storyline and even a new favorite swear it was a fantastic read all around and has me eager to explore more of the world Welfonder created.
Favorite swear? "Come here, you flat-footed he-goat!"
