Hey guys! One of my favorite ladies-- Mary Behre--is joining us today with a Tasty Delight. Her series is romantic suspense with a bit of woo-woo added in. It's so fun! The heroines have 'crifts' aka cursed gifts where they can see ghosts or talk with animals or get visions from objects--that's her current heroine from Energized. It's verra verra good. Anywho. Check out her Tasty Delight and be sure to check out my review for Energized that went up this morning too! ~anna

4 stars--Energized (Tidewater #3) by Mary Behre
Woohoo! Now this is what you call stellar romantic suspense. Energized gave me all the tingles I was looking for starting with one hella sexy (and sometimes grumbly) Marine. *swoons* Romance, awesome characters, fan yourself sexy times and one heck of a surprise twist. Add in a dash of woo-woo (the heroine gets visions from touching objects) and some crazy creepy visions and, oh yea...awesome time. Loved it to bits.
Alright, so the quick of it is that Hannah has gone searching for her long lost sisters and the stars just happen to align exactly right bringing her back into the life of one sexy Marine she shared a scorchingly hot night with months earlier. Pretty much her life has just turned all topsy turvy and a little bit crazy too.

Bites & Nibbles-A Quickie Review-Harmonized by Mary Behre
Yay! *bounces up and down* I love this series from Behre so a little snackish novella to tide me over until the next full length...yes, please! A bit of light suspense, a second chance romance, a little touch of heat and one seriously nom-ish cop. Mmmm. Yes. Harmonized hit all the right notes. The quick of it is that years ago Karma and Zig had been an item and then she just...disappeared. But all these years later she walks into his squad room in desperate need of help. Her friend nearly died and everyone thinks her baby son was killed. But Karma--who can see auras--is sure he's out there and needs help finding him before it's too late.

Guarded (Tidewater Security #2) by Mary Behre
Veterinarian Shelley Morgan has always preferred animals to humans, and not simply because she can communicate with them psychically. Unlike most people she’s known, animals have never broken her heart. But after six months in her new town, some of her favorite four-legged companions begin disappearing from the local zoo. Determined to track down the animals and their thief, the telepathic vet decides to investigate, unknowingly delving into a deadly mystery…
Although his bear-like physique has been an advantage in the Tidewater Police Department, Dev Jones’s size often intimidates people. Only Shelley has seen past his massive build to the intelligent man inside, but that was years ago. So when she contacts him requesting his help to solve a series of animal kidnappings, he’s eager to reconnect with her. But the thefts escalate to murder and all the evidence points to Shelley as the killer, and Dev faces a devastating choice: forsake his career or risk losing the woman he’s grown to love…

Huge girly sigh! I mean. I'm loving this series. Guarded was an incredibly fun ride. How could it not be with one seriously sexy detective and a heroine who can talk with animals? Add in a murder mystery and touch of danger, a second chance at finding love and a man eating ferret and, yeah, I was a happy reader girl. *nods*

Spirited (Tidewater #1) by Mary Behre
"I loved Spirited and can't wait to see what Behre will do next. She has an incredible talent and is a great new voice in romantic suspense that will most definitely have me coming back for more." ~herding cats & burning soup
So. I've totally found a new author to have a reader girl crush on. Behre's Spirited had me absolutely captivated from page one and had a little bit of everything I love--sexy hero, a little paranormal goodness, humor and some danger too. Plus a wonderfully endearing heroine who--with the help of a very determined spirit--manages things like accidentally climbing into her neighbor's bedroom in the middle of the night...dressed as a hooker. Yep. Did I mention he's a cop? And, oh yeah, this may have been the first time they'd met? ::snort:: It was quite the first meet and the perfect start to an exciting romance.
All Jules Scott wants is to live a normal, quiet life—preferably one that doesn’t include ghosts. Jules’s talent for communicating with the dead has brought her nothing but trouble. Despite her best efforts, needy spirits always find her and draw her into their otherworldly drama. When one implicates her in a series of deadly crimes, she may need to entrust her secrets to the person least likely to believe her.
Detective Seth English can’t get distracted from the big case he’s working on, not even by his alluring new neighbor. He doesn’t believe that Jules had anything to do with the string of robberies-turned-murders that he’s investigating, but when she keeps showing up in all the wrong places, his gut tells him she knows more than she’s letting on. To solve his case, he’ll need to expose what the sexy redhead is hiding—no matter how impossible the truth may be .

"Do you have any idea where you are?"
Jules sat dumbfounded in the bedroom of a Greek god. He had espresso brown eyes, curly black hair, a long nose that had probably been broken a time or two, and a sexy, dimpled chin. His tan, muscular body was covered by a chest full of springy hair that begged to be touched. Dang! He even smelled good, like soap and the salty Tidewater air.
Ohmigawd, he's a walking condom commercial.
He scowled at her, waiting for an answer. Although for the life of her she couldn't think of anything.

Good morning Mary and welcome to herding cats & burning soup! I'm so excited to have you hear today to talk about Spirited--what a great read! I'm working on gluten free donuts this week for bookclub so thought we could sneak a few while we're chatting. The chocolate dipped ones. I'm just sayin'. Pretty good.
Ohoh! How about...him?? *looks around innocently* Okay, um, where were we? Ah...okay, now that we're settled, say you had 15 seconds to completely hook someone. What would you tell them about Seth and Jules' story?

My pick this week is from Spirited! It's out in March and I loved this book. It's slight paranormal/suspense. Hero is a cop and the heroine is a psychic with some questionable luck. You know, things like when they first meet she's climbing through his bedroom window at 3am dressed as a hooker. ::snort:: It was quite the hello. (she'd been at a party and lost her keys and misjudged windows lol)
Anyways. I thought this quote from later on in the book was kinda funny (and pretty dag steamy too)...
