Imma just take a second to pant over this cover. Hot damn that's a sexy work of art. Yums! Alright. To the review! Leighton has definitely caught my attention with the Wild Ones series and makes it near impossible to put a book down once you've picked it up...even if some of the things the characters do are a touch questionable. Seriously, I was hella entertained as Jet and Violet get pulled into a whirlwind of addiction that collides with unstoppable lust, secrets and a chance for a future they never could have imagined.

When the call went out for the Underground anthology, I knew I wanted to submit something. We had plenty of leeway as to what "underground" meant for our stories, so I started brainstorming possibilities like police doing undercover work, a criminal underground, tunnels, caves, etc., but nothing got me tingly. HOW ROMANTIC SUSPENSE IS MAKING A COMEBACK...

Three words, people. Dragon. Shifter. Menage. *kathunk* I mean, really. That's pretty much an insta-favorite for me. And damn I really enjoyed it even with it being a short story. The characters were sexy, there's some danger involved, lots of delicious sheet time between the three main characters, Philippe, Remy and their mate Lilly including a little boy on boy action and it was just an easy read. So, the Graham family? LOVE. Them. Lang does an amazing job of creating characters and a family you really just can't resist. They're one of the few fictional families that as soon as I've finished the book I'm reading I'm craving the next one because I just want to keep myself surrounded by them.

This family has been dragged through hell and back after the murder of their parents and the kidnapping of their youngest sibling years earlier but has found the strength and courage to rebuild and beat back anything and everything that's thrown in their path. The men are honorable and drool-worthy and the women so incredibly unique and feisty. Watching them all find their matches and falling in love is really such a treat. The added bits of humor and heart stopping action and adventure keep me coming back again and again too.

It's been a while since a book made me laugh so hard I was crying and man is that a good feeling. Rescuing Lacey was an incredibly fun and moving story with strong willed and fiery characters, an exotic locale and a good dose of humor that will easily make my 2013 favorites list. It was one of those books I had a hard time putting down and really didn't want to see end.

The various interpretations of angels in fiction have been extremely fun to read. In fact, I was one of the readers most excited when the ‘winged ones’ came along and gave the ‘fanged ones’ a run for their money. Although I’m a fan of the ‘fallen’ in the YA world, I always wanted my angels to be different - something new and special that hadn’t been seen before. When I get to speak about them on sites and to fans, I’m filled with everything from honor to excitement from all the amazing bloggers and readers who accepted the angel/warrior team into their lives.

I always enjoy finding something a little different and Savage definitely qualifies as one of the more unique books I've read this year. The writing was very interesting for me since I've never read a book told completely from the male point of view. Not only that but it was told by the main character as he looked back on his life in the 80s as a 20-something medical exchange student. Different, right?

Christian's life his first few months was filled with danger, near death experiences, falling in love for the first time and discovering a world he never knew existed. It's a bit angsty from time to time but an intriguing journey of self discovery that kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. The romance is light and the sex scenes very, very mild.

I did have a couple problems while I was reading. I really didn't care for how animals were regarded throughout. There's a lot of hunting for sport and little respect which I found difficult to read. The secondary characters tripped me up a bit as well. I really liked the "crazy" women who lived next door that played the part of free spirits but were much more than what they appeared. I would have loved more of them in the story. Christian's host family and friends though were another thing altogether. I just didn't find them likable and didn't relate to them at all. They're cold and volatile. Narrow minded and just off putting. Christian's struggles between the two worlds was interesting though.

In the end though I did enjoy the story and exploring a different style of writing. The story moves along quickly and really felt like it was being told by an exchange student. Savage left off on a pretty good cliffhanger that will have me reaching for book two. This wasn't your typical romance with a tidy happily ever after ending and I'm honestly really curious how things are going to turn out for Christian.
