[Blog All About It] Art! Nail Polish Mugs

Blog All About It Challenge! This month's prompt was Art and I decided to finish up a post I'd started and  just never got around to posting. A couple years ago I was doing my nails all the time and started doing nail marbling. It's pretty neat. You use nail polish and water to make different designs.

And I decided to give it a try on mugs and vases.

The holidays are here! And with that? A new wreath. I saw a video on facebook where they were using a pool noodle to make a wreath and thought...oooo! I can do this! But, alas, since it's not summer there are no pool noodles to be had. lol 

Crafting with Kitties-- Cross stitch for the WIN!

I'm trying to get myself back into crafting. And, of course, the herd involves themselves. 

I thought it would be fun to share some of our crafty adventures. I could definitely use a little light hearted this week. 

First up is my cross stitch I got for my birthday from Kelly. I know yall have seen this one in the Insta-Wednesday posts but I figured it was a good way to kick off the feature :)

The link to my pin was broken but thankfully this one was fairly simple and didn't really need instructions.

The hardest part of this one was finding the damn blasted buttons! Sweet Jesus it took me forever! I ended up at 4 different stores before finding enough sizes. 

If you go out looking...ACMoore and Michaels have next to no buttons. Most of mine came from JoAnns. You'll have better luck at stores that focus on sewing projects not just crafts in general.

Passionately Pintrest: Newspaper Text on Nails!

What is Passionately Pintrest? The perfect excuse to indulge my Pintrest obsession of course! Every week or so I'll take one of my pins and actually make it happen. Recipes, beauty treatments, projects. Are they as tasty as they look? As easy as people make them seem? 

This weeks Pin: Text on nails...

Directions attached to pin:

1. Put on nail polish and let dry. 

2. Dip fingernail in alcohol-basically any will do, vodka is suggested. 

3. Press a strip of newspaper big enough to cover the whole nail on to your alcohol soaked nail. 

4. Pull off slowly and be really impressed with yourself. 

5. Paint top coat if desired.

Easter Treats (A to Z)

Not my eggs

We learned today that I stink when it comes to dying Easter eggs. I've got no talent for it what so ever and have the whole smurf thing going on now. 

So. It all started when I saw this photo of some rubber band eggs and I thought....THAT IS AWESOME!...and decided I had to give it a try. Yeah. Mine. Not so much. First, how they got the dye that vibrant is beyond me. The colors are gorgeous! 

Crafting! Creating an herb garden!

Since we seem to have left winter behind here I decided to get started on some plantings and getting my deck all nice and pretty again for Spring. 

This year I really wanted to do an herb garden but was having trouble finding the perfect spot. Instead of having them tucked in here or there in the deck railing boxes like I usually do I decided to pull out all of my mint, chives, lavender, rosemary and oregano and get a little creative with them and make an herb tree of sorts. 

Girly Crafty Project 1! Building a birdhouse!

 I have officially made my first and last birdhouse! And finished one of my girly crafty projects from my new years resolutions. Woohoo! Okay so it wasn't all that girly but birds are a bit girly, right, so I'm going with it.

I've got this book of 2001 things you should do before you die and building a birdhouse was one of them. So I picked this little one up ages ago and it's been sitting on my shelf. Not sure exactly why we all need to build a birdhouse but a birdhouse we have even though they totally and completely freak. me. the. hell. out. They're not nearly as bad as butterflies ::shudder:: but still.
