One Night with a Hero (Heroes #2) by Laura Kaye + giveaway

“Laura Kaye is synonymous with great, sexy romance.”
~NYT Bestselling Author Jennifer Probst

After growing up with an abusive, alcoholic father, Army Special Forces Sgt. Brady Scott vowed never to marry or have kids. Sent stateside to get his head on straight—and his anger in check—Brady’s looking for a distraction. He finds it in his beautiful new neighbor’s one-night-only offer for hot sex, but her ability to make him forget is addictive. Suddenly, Brady’s not so sure he can stay away.

Orphaned as a child, community center director Joss Daniels swore she’d never put herself in a position to be left behind again, but she can’t deny herself one sizzling night with the sexy soldier who makes her laugh and kisses her senseless. When Joss discovers she’s pregnant, Brady’s rejection leaves her feeling abandoned. Now, they must overcome their fears before they lose the love and security they’ve found in each other, but can they let go of the past to create a future together?

Every time I pick up one of Kaye's books I'm absolutely amazed with the world she creates. Be it gods of weather, vampires or damaged "sailors" Kaye never fails to have me head over heels for her heroes and their heroines. From the scorching hot cover to a chance encounter that turned into so much more One Night with a Hero kept me thoroughly entertained and left me squirming.

I loved Joss and Brady and all of their interactions. From fun and flirty moments to the ones that absolutely clenched my heart and had me aching for these two. From the very start these two just clicked for me. They play off of each other so well and feel like they've known each other for ages with a teasing playfulness to them that was so sweet and had me smiling.
"So, are you sated yet?"

"What?"

He quirked a crooked grin. "All done?"

He pointed to the spread in front of them, but Joss had enough experience to recognize a smooth talker when she saw one. "You playing with me?"

"No, ma'am." He nailed her with a serious expression. "Not yet."

Heat roared over her cheeks. How he managed to infuse that military politeness she loved into something so laden with innuendo she had no idea. But the tingles skittering over her skin sure meant she liked it.
One of the things that made this such a good read for me was that the characters felt real. They're both dealing with past hurts and anger that I thought made them easier to relate to because they weren't perfect and completely in control. They're damaged and flawed and make some marvelously bad decisions  along the way that oooo made me want to shake them a time or two but in the end it made it even sweeter when they finally got their act together. I really fell for Brady and his attempts to fix things between them. There were so many times he made me sigh and "awww" out loud.
And the sex scenes? Oh gawd they are super hot and steamy and will leave you squirming. Kaye writes some of the best intimate scenes out there that are so sensual, full of emotion and the perfect fit for the couple.
If you enjoy incredibly sexy stories filled with equal amounts of heart and heat One Night with a Hero is a must read. The richly developed characters, surprise twists and melt your heart moments during One Night with a Hero left me one very satisfied reader. And that's really saying something since the one night stand storyline isn't usually one of my favorites. But, whew, yeah this one totally worked for me.
