His late wife had been the center of his life, and Xavier Leduc wants no other. But when his new receptionist does her utmost to keep an emotional distance from him, he’s intrigued and digs deeper. She’s adorable. Intriguingly intelligent, beautifully submissive, sweetly vulnerable. He soon realizes her defenses are keeping her on the fringe of her sexuality--and her life. As he draws her into fuller participation, she unconsciously does the same for him. She begins to fill his world.
Ever since the night she met my Liege Xavier, Abby has questioned everything she believes about herself. She’s falling for the stern owner of Dark Haven and thinks he’s beginning to care for her...until the day he learns why she’s in his club.

Oh...my....swoon. I'm just going to sit here a minute and stare at that cover because Sweet Mary it is droolworthy. And what's inside that cover is even better. As soon as I finished My Liege of Dark Haven I wanted to flip right back to page one and read it all over again. It was one of those books that was just that blasted good. From the emotional connection and steamy bits between the characters to the writing and creativity it was all very nicely put together and made for a damn fine read from Cherise Sinclair.
One of the things I love most about Sinclair's writing is that she can create such incredibly intimate moments even in a room full of people. You get so involved in the story and focused on what's happened between the characters, the delicious tension and chemistry, that by the end of a scene it's almost a surprise to realize it's all happened out in the open in a club/group setting. A couple times I was shocked right back into reality along with Abigail which I found really amazing. I love when an author can pull me in so thoroughly that sounds mute and nothing else around me seems to matter.
Xavier took her pointed chin between his thumb and finger. As her smoky eyes widened and she tried to retreat, he let his voice slip into command mode. "Be still."
A shiver ran through her, and her pupils dilated. Even her breathing stopped.
"Very pretty," he murmured. Her surprise at her own reaction made his cock stir and brought his dominant instincts sliding into the fore. When she lifted her hand up to push him away, he captured her wrist. "No, little fluff, don't move. I want to look at you."
Her speeding pulse tapped a protest against his fingers. "I'm not submissive," she whispered.
"Oh, I think you are," he said.My Liege really had everything I look for in a book. It's an incredibly hot and steamy read but the emotional aspect of the relationship is just as strong. Abigail and Xavier are really likable people and it's lovely watching them get to know each other and figure things out. They've each got a bit of the unexpected in them as well. Xavier really will have you melting all over the place. Amazing Dom. I really like that they're not perfect as well. They can screw up, and do it spectacularly, but still manage to work things out. That's one of the things I love most about reading BDSM is how much communication (and trust) is built into the relationships.
There was really only one thing I wish there'd been a little more of. And, yeah, maybe it makes me a bit blood thirsty ;) but I would have loved some real confrontations between Abigail and some of the secondary characters that gave her grief. It all worked out and was a damn satisfying read but I really wanted certain characters to be put in their place a little more. See? Blood thirsty. LOL.
My Liege of Dark Haven, I think was one of Cherise's best ones so far and it easily tied for my favorite read. Old fans won't be disappointed and for those just checking her out it works great as a stand-alone and introduction to her writing. As well as BDSM in general. If you're a little curious about the subject she's definitely the one to read. She has a way of easing you into everything, explaining without being technical and really making you believe in the scenarios and relationships.
