Emma Lang's Circle Eight series and the Graham family never fail to delight. I'm loving this tight-nit ranching family, their undying spirit, daily battles and the people they surround themselves with. Along with the oh-so-delicious Brody Armstrong, Olivia Graham sets out into the turbulent lands of Mexico in hopes of finding some trace of her baby brother who disappeared months earlier and hasn't been seen since. Lang doesn't hold back on the gritty horrors they encounter or the passions they unleash in each other and gives readers a truly captivating and unforgettable tale.

I was a little skeptical going into Brody because the heroine Olivia was a flat out total bitch in book 1 and that's putting it nicely. And, okay, maybe I hold a grudge and was pretty much hell bent on not liking Olivia after how horrible she was to the heroine in book one but damn if she didn't win me over completely during their harrowing journey. She's by no means an easy woman to love but man does she have heart and a backbone of steel. She's mouthy, never holds her tongue and will do anything, and I mean anything, to protect the people that are important to her. You gotta love a woman like that.
“I'd like a whiskey too." Olivia's husky voice came from beside him.

The barkeep raised his bushy brows, but poured her a shot and slid it to her.

To Brody's utter surprise, she slung it back as though she regularly spent time in taverns.

"Will you never do anything normal?"
Now, Texas Ranger Brody? I so knew he'd be on the swoon-worthy side of things and he didn't disappoint. The man's got some hard unpolished edges but he's honorable, hardworking, determined and sexy as hell. His past and the lonely life he leads as a Ranger really grabbed at my heart strings and made me love him even more. He's one of those men who's not much for words but damn when he gets going it's something else and will give you all kinds of yummy little shivers.

Brody and Olivia were delightful as they reluctantly joined forces and battled an unknown enemy. There's an incredible amount of heat between them and a damn lot of snarky bickering that had me laughing more than once. And the sexual tension between them is just delicious. When these two get together, both in and out of the bedroom, it's explosive and so damn good.

Brody is full of non stop adventure, danger, passion and surprise twists along the way as Brody and Olivia hunt for the truth. I love how the disappearance and mystery surrounding the family's past connects each of the books and that with each one we get a few more answers. With her humor and emotionally charged writing Emma Lang is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and I can't wait for the next installment, Caleb, to get here! This is definitely a book I'd recommend for anyone who loves western historicals, sassy woman and swoon-worthy heroes.
